Ava DuVurnay has become a polarising, captivating figure of feminine directorial stewardship in Hollywood these days; outspoken, opinionated, passionate, her dedication to projects as diverse as Selma, 13th and 2012’s Middle Of Nowhere have cemented her as an auteur and mistress of her own destiny. Allied with Disney, DuVernay steps back behind the camera to helm A Wrinkle In Time, based on the 1963 fantasy novel by Madeline L’Engle. The film looks astonishing – it also stars Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, Mindy Kaling, Chris Pine and Zack Galifianakis, together with 12 Years A Slave actress Storm Ried, and will debut next March.
