Trailer Trash! – The Shape of Water
A film directed by Guillermo del Toro is a special thing; there are far too few unique voices in modern cinema that haven’t been swallowed up by franchises and blockbusters (and even del Toro famously came close, signing up to direct The Hobbit before it all fell apart), and although I’ve often found his films too quirky for my tastes, the man’s visual style and sense of tone are absolutely astonishing. I cannot wait for The Shape Of Water, it looks like a weird fairy tale and that’ll shatter me if it turns out great!
