Joel Goldsmith - 1957-2012

Stargate composer and son of the late film composer Jerry Goldsmith, Joel, has passed away. Mr Goldsmith was best known for his work on television series, including Sanctuary and the multiple iterations of the Stargate universe (not including the original film), incluing Stargate: SG1, Stargate: Atlantis, Stargate Universe, Stargate Continuum, and Stargate: The Ark Of Truth. Mr Goldsmith worked with his father on the score for Star Trek: First Contact (rightly regarded as the best of the Next Generation Star Trek film scores, as well as the Steve Martin comedy The Man With Two Brains, and more recently the Kevin Sorbo starrer Kull The Conqueror.

Joel Goldsmith passed away due to cancer, on April 29th, at his home in Los Angeles.

Rodney started reviewing films in the early 2000’s, for a now defunct Adelaide DVD website. He loves all kinds of movies but rarely has enough time in his day to watch them all.
