Hugh Martin - 1914-2011

Sad news tonight folks, as we report on the passing of film Academy Award Nominated and Tony winning composer Hugh Martin. Martin wrote the score for the classic musical Meet Me In St Louis, including the classic hit “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas“, widenly renowned as one of the most famous Christmas songs of all time. Primarily a Broadway composer, Martin’s other film credits include 1954′s Athena (featuring Debbie Reynolds), The Girl Most Likely, and Best Foot Forward. His Broadway credits include Too Many Girls, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, and Top Banana.

Hugh Martin passed away on March 11, aged 95.
