Elisabeth Sladen, who portrayed Sarah Jane Smith in the long-running sci-fi series, appeared during the Jon Pertwee and Tom Baker era&#8217;s, before returning for the revamped series alongside David Tennant in a cameo role or two &#8211; her most recent acting stint as the character was in the <em>Who<\/em> spin-off series, <em>The Sarah Jane Adventures<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Ms Sladen passed away on April 19th from a battle with cancer.
