Haven't seen Amazon Women On The Moon yet, so I can't comment on that, but I'd hesitate to say this film is like a "Big Brother" clone – yeah, it uses hidden cameras and such, but this wasn't for the vicarious viewing of those watching (at least, not that it as broadcast to the public). If you want to see a film where the Big Brother element is truly creepy, give Eye Spy a go – it's a low budget thriller that delivers some real scares and terrifying atmosphere.

Sometimes we see a film that others really love and praise, only to find we ourselves don't love it the same way. And yes, that's often an unquantifiable feeling; I had similar feelings about Star Trek Into Darkness, and you've read my thoughts on THAT! Don't be too worried, Dan. No doubt there's films out there everyone hates that you love!! 😉

Every review I read said it was great, it redefined the genre, it had twists and turns that you wouldn't see coming. Yet, I felt oddly switched off from it all the way through. There are some nice ideas but not necessarily original ones – it might be a relatively new spin on "Big Brother" but isn't that now twenty years old anyway, and Scream did the self-referential thing in 1997. I did enjoy the banter between Whitford and Jenkins though – their performances highlighted what a vacuous job the others were doing.

I think it is John Landis's Amazon Women On The Moon where the film is made up of a TV station constantly changing programming after a fault at headquarters. Cabin In The Woods is akin to that fictional TV channel hosting a late-night showing of Evil Dead…then finding a fault and constantly flicking back and forth between some bad reality television show.
