The Brits don't strike me as being swept up in all the hype of Hollywood, so their choice of films is always less hysterical than the HFPA or the Academy.

You and I are gonna disagree on tree of Life, I think Castor. I watched the first twenty minutes of that twaddle and thought it was pretentious garbage. I'm glad TOL didn't get a gong – although I tend to think I'm in the minority on this, unfortunately.
