I find the review pretty good, but one part kind of irked me.. You claimed Jason as an actor with limitations of the following: “all of which feature his “acting” ability at it’s very best. Statham’s no great emotional actor, yet his steely glare and dry wit ensure he has a legion of loyal fans, and his films definitely revolve around what limitations he has as an actor.” I strongly disagree with that, for the movies you’ve pointed out, all are great, but they dont call for an emotional actor, and if you’ve paid attention to subtleties in the T franchise, you can see the panicked and intense emotions swimming behind his eyes in scenes that called for it, but he has a character to stick to… and i feel it’s unfair to claim limitations on a subject in which there are no subjects of example such as a spot in a movie that calls for his character to be a super emotional metrosexual guy of today.. I don’t believe he is limited to his station, i full heartedly believe he EXCELS at being a steel gazed level headed mans man that can make you laugh from pure bewilderment of situational actions like the absurd comedic scenes in the crank movies, and he’s gotten to flaunt that.. but his level of skill in the field can be much broader if need be.. but why change something great that he’s earned a name with, for an embarrassment to his image as an actor/character like Vin Diesel did with The Pacifier? His image was much the same from his 2Fast franchise at the time up until The Pacifier and a couple others that I honestly can’t pull off the top of my head… and now i can’t picture Vin as anything other than one of the two over muscled muscled ridden giant jokers, the other being Vin’s Co-Star in the franchise, The Rock.. both of them started out being hardcore badass and relinquished that right between some select films.. The Rock’s example standing out much more from his constant work with Kev Hart.. and people cant quite take the image of them being roided out big a** comedy meatheads from the back of their minds whenever the two try to play serious parts.. Not to mention why would he want to take that route in the first place just to become the third iteration of character development without the meathead side of it? You just can’t quite compare his character to much anything or anyone else, unlike the two aforementioned.. Sorry for the 5 year late reply and the crazy long rant.
