Legendary Hollywood poster designer and graphic artist Silvano Campeggi has passed away.
Silvano Campeggi was an Italian graphic artist who worked for a number of Hollywood studios during what is now considered the be the Golden Age of cinema; his first painted poster for a film was 1939’s Gone With The Wind, featuring Clark Gable and Vivien Leigh in a classic romantic embrace. From there, Campeggi continued to work for Hollywood, rendering images of the medium’s most popular films of the day, including Casablanca, Singin’ In The Rain, West Side Story, and Breakfast At Tiffany’s, among many others.
