Rodney Twelftree – Editor in Chief, Director, and co-founder of Fernby Films

While remaining the main contributor to fernbyfilms.com, Rodney tries hard to balance his workload with his personal life, often failing, but occasionally succeeding.
Brother to co-founder Warwick Twelftree, Rodney’s passion for film is evident throughout his filmmaking career. His first film was the atrociously edited/acted/directed Aliens IV back in 1992, but since then has blossomed into a handy little filmmaker…
Rodney is happily married to wife Lisa, and lives near the beach in Adelaide, South Australia, with no pets (yet) and one daughter, Milayla.
Film achievements include the no-budget Thrash Bus 2: Clone of the Thrash Bus, as well as the short film Schoolyard Justice, the latter of which can be located via clicking the links on the sidebar to the right.

Warwick Twelftree – Contributor, co-founder of Fernby Films

Fernby Films co-founder Warwick Twelftree has finally decided to come on board the website team to produce specialised comments about various projects. After much debate as to what level of expertise he could bring to the project, after a little arm twisting it was decided a “special comments” section would be devoted to him.
So, henceforth, Warwick will be given the “special needs” forum to chat and write about various films, music, and other projects Fernby Films is involved in.
Warwick has recently accepted the role of producer on the latest project from Fernby Films, Urban Golf. No stranger to handling multi-million dollar projects, Box (as he is otherwise known) will be ensuring Rodney & Mick manage to make a film under budget and on time. We wish him luck.

Greg “Colin” Bowden – Contributor, Author, Founder of the Big Fat Film Festival

Colin is a long time affiliate with fernbyfilms.com, and with Rodney and Warwick, attending with great frequency their weekly movie nights at the place formerly known as The Pad. With the separation of the Pad Crew to various points across the globe, Colin took it upon himself to create an entity known as The Big Fat Film Festival, a weekly cinematic treat by which people could conglomerate with a single intention of attending movies. Friendship and frivolity ensued out of this.

Micahael Kubler – Contributor (PC Games), Director of Grey Phoenix Productions, Website Administrator & Technical Dude.

Mick Kubler is a long time associate of Fernby Film’s Rodney Twelftree, having worked together on Thrash Bus 2. Mick was a production partner and cinematographer on Schoolyard Justice, and owns his own photography company, Grey Phoenix Productions.
Mick joins the Fernby Films team as a slightly geeky (his words, not ours, we swear) computer whiz, having created the SYJ website, his own, this one, and several others. Being a computer geek has it’s advantages: he plays a lot of computer games… and it’s for this reason Mick has been invited onto the Fernby Films team as our resident game-geek.
Expect his take on all things computer-y in the days, weeks and months to come. He’s a busy boy (after all, he has multiple jobs), but he’ll tell you what’s what.
To contact Mick directly, feel free to visit his blog site.

PAST CONTRIBUTORS
James Ward – Contributor (Documentary), political & environmental activist.

Jimmy comes into the fernbyfilms.com fold after a long association with director Rodney Twelftree. His engineering degree at Flinders University indicates his rather elevated cerebral status. Jimmy follows a number of worthy causes; primarily, that of peak oil and global warming, the current issue of climate change is perhaps closest to his heart. With this in mind, Rodney asked him to come on board to review films and issues of these nature.
James once ran the Blair Athol Multilateral Entertainment Complex, small screen affair that moved to Mt Barker, and after he married Mel in 2007, they now reside in Nairne, SA, with some ducks, a dog, and a large tank. James’ is a fan of The Matrix Trilogy, as well as The Simpsons and Futurama. One of the best films he claims to have seen is Office Space.
James has had a long history with Fernby Films, dating back to 2001 when he appeared in a trailer for a local youth group camp that was made by Rodney & Warwick Twelftree. Since then, he has gone on to appear in Thrash Bus 2: Clone Of The Thrash Bus, alongside other FF luminaries such as Lachlan Cupit, Andrew Newman, and Nicholas Abbott.
James is quite often quite forthright with his opinions. We here at Fernby Films are always looking for those with opinions different to our own, to ensure discussion amongst people is first and foremost in our endeavours. Should you disagree with any statements that James makes in any of his posts, please let him know and engage in discussion…. who knows, perhaps you might be right!!

Mel Ward – Contributor (chick flicks)

Mel joins the Fernby Films team as our resident chick-flick reviewer. Married to our very own James Ward late in 2007, Mel has long been associated with Rodney Twelftree through his Movie nights at the old Pad, as well as via various other friends and associates. Mel likes watching old TV series on DVD, as well as the occasional movie.

Doug Shearer – Contributor (Classic Films)

Douglas comes to us from the US, after being approached to write a review for the site by Rodney. Rodney approached him after reading a comment he made about the review we wrote for Sunshine. Based on that comment, Douglas has written his own review on this film for us. Douglas is named after the famed MGM Sound Designer (above) who won multiple Academy Awards for his work in sound design in the 30′s & 40′s. Doug will be sharing his thoughts on some of Hollywoods greatest films of the past, in his classic film column, beginning in January 2009. Rodney’s introduction interview with Doug can be found here.

Thorin Cupit – Contributor (semi-regular)

Thorin joins the fernbyfilms.com team as a long time associate of Rodney Twelftree, and along with his brother Lochy, have appeared in a small number of FF productions over the years. Thorin is a critical film reviewer who does not like fluff for the sake of fluff, if he can see something wrong with something, he’ll mention it plainly. Look forward to his valuable content appearing semi-regularly on this site. While not contributing on any kind of regular basis, his knowledge and critical opinion is highly valued here at the site.

The Secret Squirrel – Contributor, secretive squirrel who writes for us.

It’s not often you get the views of actual animals published anywhere on the web (although, who knows, soon, we might be able to!) so when a cute little squirrel approached our HQ in the dead of night, asking to express his/her opinion, who were we to say no? Initially thought to be a chick squirrel, later on we revised that opinion to be a non-descriptive unisex one. The Secret One, as he/she likes to be known, gives up his/her opinions on humanity based on what he/she see’s on screen, be it film, TV or anything else. As an outlet to the squirrely communication we have established here at the site, we have asked the Secret One to give us a comment each an every week, just to let us know what he/she is thinking about, what tickled their fancy (have YOU ever tickled a squirrels fancy? It’s quite funny, we can assure you!) or made him/her laugh over the last little while. Fascinating!
