The Hobbit **Page No Longer Updated** Archive Only

The Hobbit, the precursor story to The Lord Of The Rings, is currently in pre-production in New Zealand. With original director Guillermo Del Toro having to resign from the project due to contracts with another studio and other in-development films, the Hobbit films are currently without a director. Produced by Rings director Peter Jackson, and partially backed by the financially restricted MGM, The Hobbit tells the story of how Bilbo Baggins came by the Ring of power, during his quest for a treasure guarded by the great dragon Smaug. This page will house all the news and links we’ll be posting on the production, release, and post-script for the planned two films due to be released in 2012/13.
