Quick bit of news, in the lead-up to this years Oscars: The Hurt Locker, directed by James Cameron’s ex-wife Katherine Bigelow, has taken out Best Picture and Best Director gongs at this years British Academy of Film And Television Awards ceremony, held in London this morning (Australian time).

With all the hoopla surrounding James Cameron’s Avatar, we think this news bodes well for our tip of The Hurt Locker upsetting the applecart come Oscar time next month.

Our congratulations to Ms Bigelow for her much deserved win.
