Vale – Audrey Wells

Noted Hollywood screenwriter and producer Audrey Wells has passed away.

A Californian native, Ms Wells began her career in Hollywood after writing the successful romantic comedy movie The Truth About Cats And Dogs, which would star Uma Thurman and Janeane Garofalo, in 1996. She was co-writer on the Brendan Fraser comedy George Of The Jungle, solo writer on Disney’s The Kid, and would write, produce and direct the Diane Lane romantic comedy Under The Tuscan Sun, in 2003.

Ms Wells has script credits on Shall We Dance? (2004), Dwayne Johnson’s The Game Plan (2007), as well as recent controversial family movie A Dog’s Purpose. Sadly, Audrey Wells passed away after a battle with cancer the day before her final film, which she wrote and directed, The Hate U Give, released into cinemas across the United States, on October 4th.

Audrey Wells was 58.
