Video Review – Avengers: Age Of Ultron **SPOILER FREE**

Avengers-Age-of-Ultron-Video-Review

Morning folks! Well, yesterday we trekked to our local cinema to take in the latest offering from Marvel, Age Of Ultron. Directed by Joss Whedon, this blockbuster tentpole film regroups the entire Marvel Avengers cast, plus a few newbies. We thought it would be cool to do a video review of it immediately following the screening, to get our initial thoughts of what we thought about the movie. I’ve combed this review to ensure no sneaky spoilers appear, and I’m confident you can watch this video without having the magic and surprises of Age Of Ultron ruined for you. It’s a rare this to have the key elements of surprise not in a film’s trailer, and that’s the case here. Even so, my attempt at looking and sounding professional are still limited by my utter inability to form coherent thoughts whilst on camera.

Check it out below, and don’t forget to look for our written review, up tomorrow here at the site![Edit: That’s April 24th, folks]

Astound! As I completely mangle the English language.

Behold! The time I utterly forget a key cast member’s name (Elizabeth Olsen).

Wonder! At my inexplicable decision not to talk at all about Chris Evans as Captain America!

I forgot to thank them in the video, so I’ d better give special thanks to Michael Kubler and Flik Shemmer for their work in production on this video.

    1. Think of it like a pair of well-worn slippers, Al. They're comfortable, slightly smelly, but fell great when you're wearing them.

    1. Ahhh, you'll love this, Dan. It's a cracker. Serious critics have pulled it apart a bit too heavy-handedly, but for what Whedon needed to accomplish, and what he achieved, there's little doubt about AoU's barnstorming antics being chief of the film's best parts.

  1. Nice work, Rodney! Did a damn good job considering the time of day (or should I say, night) that you recorded this at. If I'd been in your position, I think I would have been going at a mile a minute with my words after seeing the film. I so desperately want to share some of the brilliant dialogue and jokes from the film… but I know I can't!

To anyone who reads this and watches this review, please, do see this film. This is truly one of the cinematic highlights of 2015, and should be seen on the big screen.

And so from here, the reins are being handed over to the Russo brothers, who have more amply shown their incredible skills on the small screens, having helmed many episodes of "Arrested Development" and "Community", to name just a couple, and having already directly a Marvel piece with "Captain America: The Winter Soldier". they should easily fill the vacant seat left by Whedon.

    1. Yeah, by the time I got home, edited it and started rendering the footage, it was about 2am! A late night makes for a very hazy day today, I can tell you. While "official" critic reviews have been a little more mixed in their evaluations, I think audience appreciation for the rock 'em, sock 'em mix of action and visual will make this stand up alongside The Force Awakens as the "most memorable" film of 2015.

For the record, my spoiler review will be up tomorrow, so we can chat all things about this film there if you like!

    1. No worries mate, glad you enjoyed. My full spoiler review will be up tomorrow, but I wouldn't read that until you've seen the film. Unless you don't care, in which case, I'd enjoy your opinion on it!
