Anne Francis - 1930-2011

Very quick tip of the hat this morning regarding the passing of Anne Francis, the woman who starred alongside Leslie Nielsen and Walter Pidgeon in Forbidden Planet. Francis made her film debut in 1947′s This Time For Keeps, before appearing in various supporting roles in films such as So Young So Bad and Bad Day At Black Rock. Later films include 1978′s Born Again, The Double O Kid in 1992, and Lovers Knot in 1996.

She passed away from complications of pancreatic cancer on January 2.

I sad passing of a very memorable and classy lady. Pancreatic cancer is a tough way out and I only hope she didn't suffer long. Her career spanned over half a century and I read somewhere that she was actually the first single woman to adopt a baby back in the 70's. Wow, she had talent and inspiration.
