Weekly Comment from the Secret Squirrel

From the heights of my treetop home, my nestmate and I have been busily studying the human’s film culture. It is a glorious thing to cuddle up with her on a freezing winter night, in front of our 6″ plasma with a good story being told while we make our way through last season’s acorns. I was at first cynical of the somewhat lazy, unproductive habit of watching movies only known at present to the human animals. However, I am fast becoming fond of being told stories in this way, and one day I would like to be known as a great film critic.

It is in this endeavour that, as previously illustrated, I approached director Rodney Twelftree who has kindly embraced my enthusiasm for the Human Film Culture. My accomplishments in the English language and reading and writing did help me there. I believe that as an onlooker and an outsider of the human race, my perception of film just may be invaluable to the the ever growing persons who are fans of Fernby Films.

In the near future I will release my first article, a piece about the human relationships which can all be filed under the title, “Love”. It is inspired by the recent film, “A Feast of Love”. But for now I leave you with a thought for the week, spoken by the character Mr. Keating (Robin Williams) in the movie ‘Dead Poet’s Society’;

We don’t read and write poetry because its cute, we read and write poetry because we are members of the human race, and the human race is filled with passion.
